Power switch set to OFF MOST COMMON
ION and IQ robots have a physical power switch on the side — off means no charging, no lights, and a very confusing "dead" robot.
Dirty or oxidized charging contacts
The metal strips under the robot and on the dock build up dust and oxide that block current.
Dock unplugged or outlet dead
Wall switches, smart plugs and loose adapters silently cut dock power — the dock light should be on with the robot away.
Robot misaligned on the dock
Docked at an angle, the strips never meet the pins; the charging light stays dark even though the robot looks parked.

HOW TO FIX IT
Unplug the dock before cleaning its charging strips, and never bridge the two strips with a metal tool.
Check the power switch
Find the power switch on the side of the robot and make sure it is set to ON before anything else.
Verify dock power
With the robot away, the dock indicator should be lit. Dark means power — try another outlet and push the plug fully in.
Clean both sets of contacts
Unplug the dock and wipe the strips on the dock and under the robot with a dry cloth until the metal is bright.
Re-dock and watch the light
Seat the robot straight on the dock and confirm the charging indicator comes on (blue on IQ/AI models).
Replace the battery if runtime stays short
A robot that charges fully but quits in minutes needs a genuine replacement battery.
