DIRECT ANSWER

A DEEBOT that won't charge usually has a power switch set to off, dirty charging contacts, or a deeply discharged battery. Check the switch first, dock it by hand, and watch for the flashing-white AUTO button.

COMMON CAUSES · RANKED

1

Power switch set to OFF MOST COMMON

DEEBOTs hide a physical switch under the top cover or on the underside — off means no charging and a very convincing "dead" robot. It is ECOVACS' first official check.

2

Dirty charging contacts or dock pins

The official manuals have you clean the robot's charging contacts and the dock pins — dust and oxide block the current path.

3

Dock unpowered or cord loose

ECOVACS' first step is the power cord at both the outlet and the back of the station — wall switches, smart plugs and half-seated plugs cut it silently.

4

Battery in deep discharge UNCOMMON

A completely drained pack needs re-activating — the official 500-series procedure docks the robot by hand for 3 minutes, removes it, and repeats three times before charging normally.

5

Battery worn out UNCOMMON

A robot that charges full but quits in minutes needs a replacement pack — aftermarket only for older DEEBOTs, so pick a reviewed brand and dispose of the old pack properly.

HOW TO FIX IT

SAFETY · READ THIS FIRST

Unplug the dock before cleaning its charging contacts, never bridge the two contacts with anything metallic, and never install a battery that is swollen, hot or leaking.

Confirm the power switch is ON

Open the top cover (or flip the robot on older models) and push the switch to the "I" position before anything else.

Verify dock power at both ends

Reseat the power cord in the outlet and in the back of the dock, then try another outlet if the dock shows no life.

Clean both sets of contacts

Unplug the dock and wipe the robot's charging contacts and the dock pins with a dry cloth until the metal is bright.

Dock by hand and watch the light

Place the robot on the dock; a voice prompt plays and the AUTO button flashes white while charging. Leave it 4-5 hours.

Re-activate a deeply discharged battery

Officially — dock the robot by hand, remove it after 3 minutes of charging, repeat three times, then charge normally. If it still plays dead, replace the battery or contact ECOVACS support.

ECOVACS does not sell N79 packs self-serve — the market is aftermarket only, so buy a known brand with real reviews. Switch the robot off before opening the screwed battery door, never fit a swollen or hot pack, and recycle the old one.
