ECOVACS Error 1 beep — Robot stuck, wheel or brush jam
DIRECT ANSWER
COMMON CAUSES · RANKED
N79, flashing red — robot suspended or stuck MOST COMMON
The official table's fix is to place the robot on an even surface or remove the obstacles and restart — thresholds, cables and clutter are the classic traps.
N79, solid red — driving wheel wrapped
Hair and thread tighten around the wheel axle until the motor stalls; the manual sends you to the wheel-cleaning routine in its maintenance section.
DEEBOT 500/600/601 — main or side brush tangled
On these models one beep is the brush alarm — the official fix is cleaning the main brush and side brushes as shown in Section 4 of the manual.
Wheel module wearing out RARE
A wheel that keeps stalling with nothing wrapped around it points at the wheel module itself — a repair-or-support case.
HOW TO FIX IT
Read the LED and know your model
Note whether the red AUTO button is flashing or solid — on the N79 family that choice picks the fix; on 500/600 models go straight to the brushes.
Rescue a stranded robot
Lift it clear of the obstacle, set it on flat open floor, and restart the clean.
Clear both driving wheels
Power off, flip the robot, and pull hair and debris out of both wheels, cutting tight wraps with scissors, until each spins freely.
Clean the brushes on 500/600 models
Remove the main brush cover and roller, clear wrapped hair, and wipe the side brushes and their slots with a dry cloth.
Escalate a repeat alarm
If one beep returns with clean wheels on open floor, contact ECOVACS support ([email protected] / 1-844-326-8227 in the US).

Main brush — N79 family & DEEBOT 500/600/601/661
ECOVACS' official schedule cleans the roller weekly with the multi-function tool (careful — its edges are sharp) and replaces it every 6-12 months; a solid-red four-beep alarm that survives cleaning means the bristles are done.

Side brushes — N79 family & DEEBOT 500/600/601/661
These DEEBOTs run two three-arm side brushes that pull straight off their posts. ECOVACS' official schedule cleans them every two weeks and replaces them every 3-6 months — sooner if the solid-red two-beep alarm keeps returning.
