DIRECT ANSWER

Weak suction on a Dreame is almost always a full dust box, a clogged or damp filter, or a tangled main brush. Dreame's first official check: feel for airflow at the air outlet while it vacuums.

COMMON CAUSES · RANKED

1

Full dust box or clogged filter MOST COMMON

The official routine when airflow is present but pickup is poor — empty the dust box and clean the filter thoroughly. A packed filter chokes suction long before the motor complains.

2

Main brush tangled with hair

Every manual FAQ lists a foreign object in the main brush for a robot that "no longer cleans efficiently or leaves dust behind" — hair mats at the roller ends stall pickup on carpets first.

3

Filter refitted damp after washing

Dreame's filters are washable, but a filter that goes back in before drying completely blocks airflow and can damage the fan — dry it fully, at least a day, before refitting.

4

Suction level set to Quiet UNCOMMON

The official articles' quickest fix — raise the suction power in the app. A robot left in Quiet mode reads as "broken" on the first rug it meets.

5

Fan failure — no airflow at all RARE

If there is no air at the outlet and no fan sound while vacuuming, Dreame's official instruction is to stop using the robot and contact after-sales — that is the fan module, not a consumable.

HOW TO FIX IT

No battery or electrical work involved in this fix.

Run the official airflow test

Start a clean and hold a hand at the air outlet. Air blowing means the fan works — go to the next steps. No air and no fan sound means stop and contact Dreame support.

Empty the box, clean the filter

Empty the dust box, knock the filter clean or rinse it with plain water, and let it dry completely — at least 24 hours — before refitting; swap it if it stays gray and dense.

Clear the main brush and inlet

Remove the brush cover and roller, cut away wrapped hair at the bristles and both end caps, and clear the suction inlet behind it.

Raise the suction level

In the app, set suction to Standard or higher and re-test on the problem area; enable the carpet-boost option if your model has it.

Escalate a dead fan

If pickup stays poor with a clean filter and brush — or there was never any airflow — contact Dreame after-sales with a short video of the robot vacuuming.

The classic 570 ml dust box uses one washable pleated filter. Rinse it with water only, no detergent, and let it dry completely — at least 24 hours — before refitting; a damp filter chokes suction and can damage the fan. Dreame's store still lists an official two-pack for the D10 Plus.

L10s Ultra

Official filter (Dreame's listing also covers the L10s Pro Gen2, L10s Plus and D10s Plus Gen2 sold in some regions). A clogged or still-damp filter is the first official check when the robot stops picking up debris or gets louder.
