Shark Error 7 — Cliff sensor error

Severity: Warning — robot stops because it can't trust its drop sensors IQEZAIAI UltraMatrixPowerDetect
Last verified: 2026-07-06 Tools: clean dry cloth Time: ~10 min Difficulty: easy

DIRECT ANSWER

Error 7 means a cliff sensor error — the robot thinks it isn't on a level surface, or the sensors need a reset to read correctly. Move it to open floor and wipe the cliff sensors under the bumper.

COMMON CAUSES · RANKED

1

Dusty cliff sensor windows MOST COMMON

A film of dust over the sensors under the front edge makes the floor read as a drop.

2

Robot not on a level surface

Half over a stair nose, threshold or ledge, the sensors correctly report a drop and stop the mission.

3

Sensors need a power-cycle

Shark's own guide says the robot may simply need a reset to get an accurate sensor reading.

HOW TO FIX IT

No battery or electrical work involved in this fix.

Power off the robot

Take it off the base and hold POWER for 3 seconds.

Wipe the cliff sensors

Turn the robot over, find the cliff sensors underneath near the bumper, and wipe off dust and residue with a clean, dry cloth.

Restart from the dock

Set the robot back on the base to power it on, then press VACUUM. If the error repeats, contact Shark support with your model and the code.
